Michael Carpenter - Producer/Engineer/Musician
Michael Carpenter has always been interested in records. Listening to them. Pulling them apart. And making them. While a successful solo artist, sideman, lecturer, mastering engineer and songwriter, his heart and true passion lie in the Stagefright Room at Love Hz studios.
After starting his first incarnation of Stagefright Studios in 1991, and surviving a variety of dubious locations and scenarios, some more successful than others, it was in finding his extremely talented partner in Love Hz Studios, Matt Fell, that he found someone who understood his unique perspective on the record making process.
“From the first time I spoke to Matt, i knew we shared our own distinct ideas about the way we believed a contemporary recording studio should be, and how records should be made in them. So we built our own...”
Michael appears to have made records that cross most genres of contemporary music at one time or another over the last 2 decades. His abilities as a bona-fide multi-instrumentalist.. he’s a deeply experienced and seasoned musician who plays drums, bass, guitars and excellent 2 fingered Hammond equally, combined with his experience as an engineer and producer, means that he can fill most needs that people would have in a recording situation. Whether looking for a producer, or someone to play everything, or anything else in between, Michael can fit the bill easily.
“I believe that people should feel encouraged to push themselves beyond what they think they can achieve when recording. Matt & I, individually, and as “Love Hz” try to create a situation where people can feel encouraged, inspired and financially comfortable enough to really dive into their creativity, and not only make great records, but have a special time doing it.”
With over 500 album credits to his name, and around a thousand recording projects under his belt, Michael Carpenter looks forward to welcoming you into the Love Hz body of work. Below is a partial list of clients.
